Ancient Indian System of Logic compares Logic to a lamp . A lamp dispels darkness, so also Logic dispels ignorance or distortion of knowledge. A lamp makes us see what could not be seen before, similarly, Logic makes us see what could not be seen before.
The function of a lamp being so precious and yet so fragile, it became necessary to protect the flame. The flame had to be protected from wind, rain, and any outside influence. Thus came about the design of a lantern, a glass enclosing the light flame from all sides, that could be carried for a longer time , distance and also in non-favourable circumstances. Even though the main purpose of a lantern is utility, lanterns have been been a source of joy and have been used in festivals to denote celebrations. Similarly, Logic having utility as it’s main purpose is also a source of joy and is to be celebrated with. Thus is inspired the concept of LogicLanterns.
The essence of all lanterns is the same, a flame and a glass frame. Lanterns contain a yellow flame colouring with its light the glass or transparent frame through which it passes. The same is conveyed through LogicLanterns logo with a yellow circle and yellow square. The yellow circle represents the yellow flame and the yellow square represents the glass frame coloured with the yellow light of the yellow flame passing through it.
